SANTO
Organic Arabica by Rafael Jacob
One of our newest partners in Brazil is the farmer Rafael Jacob, who runs the Fazenda Santo André. Rafael took over the 60-hectare coffee farm from his family and converted cultivation entirely to organic. With the ambition to grow to Demeter standards in future, and a big heart for the smallest creatures, Rafael cares especially about bees and beekeeping. Social projects also have their place on his farm.
In 2021, large parts of Brazil experienced an unusual cold snap that destroyed thousands of hectares of coffee plants. Rafael, too, lost some of his young plants. Due to this and other climate-change-related events, coffee prices have risen sharply worldwide.

CULTIVO
Balanced espresso & filter
Brazil is the most important country of origin for our coffee. Normally we source our organic coffee directly from our partner Rafael Jacob. However, since our demand this year was higher than the quantity imported in December 2024, and the fresh harvest only arrives at the end of 2025, we looked for a high-quality alternative.
This green coffee comes from a renowned organic farm in Brazil and is an excellent substitute in terms of flavour. We roast it medium-light, giving it a creamy body, pronounced sweetness and a gentle acidity.

COMBRIFOL
Organic coffee from the COMBRIFOL cooperative
In the border region with El Salvador, the members of the COMBRIFOL cooperative grow their organic coffee. They largely belong to the indigenous Lenca people and farm small plots of 1 to 4 hectares. The region's political history still has a great influence on local life; only in 1992 was this area legally awarded to Honduras, which is why state support is often lacking.
Our head roaster Kira was on site in 2023 and 2025 and was impressed by the cooperative's familial yet well-structured way of working. The warmth of the members convinced us to source all of our Honduran green coffee from here in future. With our demand of around 100 bags, we can make a real, positive impact on this small cooperative.
